Easter Card Hunt

Stitchy Stories from the North East, Easter card hunt….

A clue to locations but make sure to tune into my live Facebook feeds after 12.00 tomorrow for the specific locations 😊

Welcome to my first blog!

Tomorrow I will be leaving cards for you to find at 10 different locations on the North East Coast. If you have a look at my “Stitchy Stories from the North East” you will already have a rough idea of each one’s location but if you want the exact spot, then tune into my live Facebook feeds on Monday to get the “what three word” locations.

Or you may have just been transported here by QR code after finding a stitchy story card, on our Easter Monday card hunt. I hope it made you happy, it’s always nice to get a wee surprise.

Stitchy Stories from the North East” is a new series of appliqué, embroidery scapes, inspired by my favourite landmarks on our beautiful North East coastline, between Stonehaven and Montrose. I struggled to narrow it down to these ten, so I’ll definitely be revisiting this series during the year. If you have any suggestions for a favourite Scottish place you would like to see in stitches, please get in touch, I’m always looking for new ideas.

Appliqué is the art of painting in fabric. All of these pieces are made from scraps of fabric that would normally end up in bin, the fabric is layered, stitched down into shapes, then the excess trimmed, once I’m happy with all the layers, the final layer is stitched. All of these designs start with a doodle, then I refine the design on my iPad, working out my layers , I then redo the design in my embroidery software,, taking care to choose the right kind of stitches to make sure I get all the detail. I loved every stage of creating these pieces. Please browse my “Stitchy Stories from the North East“ and if you found a card, there’s a 10% discount code especially for you, please enjoy.

Happy Easter folks
