Stitchy Kids

By Amara age 9

Who wouldn’t want this wee robin in their kitchen!

It’s getting into mad season but I love it! Nothing to do with the festive season though, I have a complete addiction to knitwear!, I love nothing more than taking my dogs out on a frosty morning, shoving one one of my amazing hand knitted jumpers and hat, or ganzie and toorie as, they are better known in the North East of Scotland, not my work i may add, I have purchased far too many to mention over the years, knitted by fabulously talented friends and artisans.

Which brings me onto collaborations, I love working with the many talented artists I’ve met over the years but I’ve also discovered there is an amazing group of creators that go a bit unnoticed…. Kids!

Kids just create the most fabulous drawings, I love hearing the stories behind these creations, whether it’s just a nice family day out with their slobbery pet, or the time that dad fell over drunk beside the barbecue, kids artwork are always honest (whether we like it or not) another thing I’ve discovered is just how brilliant they look embroidered. So putting these all together, I’m now offering #stitchykids, these are reproduced from the artwork with a tiny bit of artistic license on the formatting, to make them high quality bespoke gifts, with a real quality folksy feel.

I’m so delighted with how these are turning out, I’m going to run a competition next year for BOB 24, and give these wee designers a chance to design our yearly Robin. This year though, I think the honorary prize goes to Amara, aged 9, for her beautiful design with a bob and butterflies, isn’t it just the cutest ❤️

Enjoy your festive season folks and take a moment to appreciate your knitwear!
